Joanna Ke is an award-winning filmmaker that thrives in the industry as a writer, producer, actor, and stunt sword fighter. If grace married silliness, their daughter would be Joanna. Being of mixed Taiwanese heritage, she champions diverse stories led by women, both behind and in front of the camera. She’s especially passionate about action, fantasy, and sci-fi projects.
As an actor, she’s had the honor of working with director Cameron Crowe and was mentored by M*A*S*H casting director Sam Christensen. She studied the craft of screenwriting with the late, great Syd Field and has been a regular contributing writer for WeScreenplay and Ms. In the Biz.
Joanna’s solid foundation as a creative producer was built on nearly a decade of experience as a professional script reader in development and acquisitions, reading hundreds of scripts for production companies, producers, literary management, sales agents, contests, and screenwriters.
Her film producing skills of taking a project from conception through post and distribution translate excellently to the online world of virtual events. Under her Saint Joan Productions banner, she has directed, edited, and produced two short films entirely remotely.
Joanna regularly produces virtual events for New York Times best-selling author Dr. Barbara De Angelis, having helped her successfully move all her in-person events to the virtual space. She is a freelance producer for virtual PR events on Zoom such as press junkets, panels, and press conferences. With her exceptional attention to detail and passion for leading teams to success, she’s also versed in virtual post producing.
Joanna serves as an events producer for the non-profit The Chimaera Project, champions for filmmakers that identify as female and non-binary creatives. She also loves supporting other filmmakers by serving as a judge for GeekFest Film Fest and screening for Mill Valley Film Festival.
Joanna's films have won numerous awards, including Best Fantasy and Best Action. Her acting has been recognized with Best Performance, Best Villain, and Inspiring Woman in a Film accolades. She is a trained stunt sword fighter. Wielding her broadsword is a favorite - both on and off camera.
